There has been a trend over the last few years of combining a tabletop miniature game with an RPG setting. This is nothing new, and goes all the way back to TSR’s Chainmail and D&D. Still if something works, don’t fix it! So with that in mind, Avalon has been working on a system and setting that encompasses all of our Sci-Fi games, offering one setting as the base for a tabletop system, RPG, and boardgame alike. We have been doing this all along with Battle Armor, using what we developed in that Mini-Game to build a whole Sci-Fi universe. Alongside Battle Armor, our Space Armada system, Zero-G S&G genre setting, and Future Wars all use the same Sci-Fi universe. When we put together Infinite Futures, we also tied it into this setting and will soon have a setting book for that RPG called The Fringe.
As we have the background and setting all worked up, it’s natural, of course, to use it for this next game, which you hold here—a small skirmish-style system that can be used to fight tabletop battles in the Fringe universe. Nova Blast is also tied into Infinite Futures, allowing you to work the RPG into the tabletop game. Thus, if your adventuring crew should happen to get involved in a small-scale battle, you can convert it easily into the Nova Blast system. As all the creatures, factions, and forces will also be a part of the Fringe, it’s easy to link the game systems together.
Now, to tie it all even more closely together, Avalon has been working up a paper model and figure line of products. So, of course we opted to use these figures in Nova Blast. Therefore, the system comes with stand-up figure flats for easy use, or—for diehard model makers—you can go and seek our miniatures for your games.
This synergy between systems, product lines, and other promotions will allow Avalon to really make a big push for Nova Blast and other products using this setting and give you a great time gaming with our products.

* The Core Rules in a 30-plus page, full-color book, fully illustrated and offering plenty of examples of play.
* The Fringe Setting Book, offering information on the setting, the factions, and enough game-crunchy stuff to get started playing right away.

Avalon Games is happy to offer a fine collection of paper figure flats for use in your games and RPG adventures. Each figure flat is presented in full color and mirrored with a front and back image of the character.
Figures within each set are offered in two versions: a cut-out version for those hobbyists that want to spend the time cutting out their figures for a detailed image and miniature, and a second version of each figure with an eggshell border for those hobbyists that want to get right to playing.
All figures are set to 30mm scale and are in full color. Each set comes with 10 figures and a bonus figure just for fun.
You are given permission to print as many of these images as you want and need, but they may not be reprinted in commercial or non-commercial publications, on the web, or in any other means without first getting permission from Avalon Games.

Well 2011 was a rip roaring year for Avalon Games, so let’s take a look at how we did, what we did right and of course what we screwed up.
2011 was a strange year in terms of the market. While the economy was up and then down, and then a bit up, it was always down in overall terms. While entertainment is traditionally up in a bad economy, and this held true for the most part with the gaming and hobby market, overall, RPGs were down. D&D continues to lose market share, and Pazio's Pathfinder is becoming the game of choice for many. Still, there were a lot of openings for other game systems, and many third party publishers tried to capitalize on those openings, to some success.
This was the first year that Avalon itself was in full swing and firing on all cylinders. So we will use the numbers for 2011 as a base line in future reviews. With that in mind, Avalon did well - almost tripling our sales numbers from 2010. We opened ourselves to several new markets and even found a few new places to sell our goodies. Our customer base grew a lot - up to 15 thousand now, and our branding efforts are starting to pay off with people coming to look at our stuff just on our name alone.
